On this particular January Monday, I am relating {and loving} to the muted tones of these gorgeous flowers. The pale pink and muted peach are a stunning combination, and seem somewhat perfect for this time of year. Can’t you picture this as the inspiration for a bridal shower?

You all know I’m a sucker for grass plant centerpieces, so it’s no surprise that I was taken with this stunning table setting from Hatch Creative Studios. I love how crisp it is, and of course the use of green grass and moss as accents. Stunning!

Love in Bloom: Ideas for a Sophisticated, Spring Wedding

I am SO in the mood for Spring. Every time I close my eyes, I have visions of soft, pastel colors, and picture beautiful flowers in bloom (especially peonies!). Seeing as though I live in Chicago and we are still digging ourselves out from the most recent blizzard….this inspiration board is going to have to tide me over for now. A girl can dream….

Stunning Ombre Flowers

I have been totally swooning over this table setting for a while now…figured it was time to share it with all of you! I’ve been stashing away images that include orange flowers for inspiration for my sister’s upcoming wedding, and when I found this one….ah, amazing! So unique. I love the linear look it gives to the table, but especially the ombre (a graduated color change) effect. It’s such a sophisticated way to pull in colors ranging from orange, to pink, to deep berry. This could be a fabulous idea for a special birthday party or bridal shower!

Sunflower Centerpiece D-I-Y Instructions

Yesterday, I showed you a peak into the engagement dinner party I threw for my sister over the weekend. The highlight of the decor was definitely the sunflower centerpiece….I loved the combination of the “palm-beach-chic” footed bowl and the sunflowers! Today, I am here to share with you instructions, so you can re-create this look too!

1. Gather your materials: a footed bowl, a wet foam half circle, and sunflowers (any full flower would work!).

2. Cut your foam to fit into the footed bowl (I squared off my sides to make it fit well), and soak it with water so it holds moisture.

3. Cut your flower so they have a 2-3″ stem – if your stems are not strong enough, use a little floral wire to strengthen them. Starting at the very top of your foam, insert the stems into your foam.

4. Make sure you space your blooms far enough that the stems won’t hit each other when being inserted into the foam, but close enough that you create a compact arrangement.

5. Repeat, working downwards from the top.

6. Voila! The finish product! Perfect for a dinner party, bridal shower or wedding celebration.

4th of July Centerpiece

Fourth of July is just around the corner – anyone planning a big party or BBQ? I loved this centerpiece idea from Good Housekeeping. Simple, with a preppy nod. Simply attach grosgrain ribbon to any vase with double-sided tape. You could take this idea and adapt it to any party theme – it would be darling for a birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower, or wedding.

I love the first signs of Spring. Especially the bunches of tulips and daffodils I see on my weekly spin thru Whole Foods! It’s amazing how one little vase of flowers sitting on my kitchen table can brighten the entire room! The color yellow is the epitome of Spring to me – and here is a little inspiration on how to incorporate it into your day.

Elegant Bold Stripes

When I started putting together this inspiration board, it was with a formal wedding in mind. However, after pulling these ideas together, I really think you could use this for any type of formal entertaining! I absolutely adore the use of bold, black and white stripes – from the tablecloth, to the ribbon used to hang placecards from, to the crisp white edge of the party favor box. It’s crisp. It’s modern (although black and white stripes are very traditional!). And it’s the perfect accent to almost any color combination!

I would love to see this concept re-created for a formal birthday party, a charity event, or even a bridal shower!
