On the main party table, the girls had lunch that included Fairy Berries, Snail Swirl Sandwiches, Gnome Walking Sticks (carrots & ranch), and Magical Fairy Juice (sparkling pink lemonade).  After their lunch they painted their own little fairy houses.  The sweets table included mushroom themed cupcakes and white chocolate dipped marshmallows, both a hit with the kids!

Party favors included a custom fairy dust bottle and a goodie bag with a custom notebook & twig pencil.

The ladies at Nesting Newbies asked me to put aside the character themes and the princess wands, and create a party that was truly me, my style.  Using a series of crisp black and white patterns, and a bold Kelly green, our modern barbie silhouette got a sophisticated update!    To define the vertical space of the party room, I hung a pennant banner amongst playful pom pom garlands (which I made with green ribbon and small, black and white pom poms I found at Michael’s) above the tables. (but at a lower-than-normal-height, so the kids would feel like the space was all for them!)

Small tables, perfect for a tea party, were set with custom made white denim tablecloths that had a large black swiss dot ruffle at the bottom.  I made coordinating cloth napkins, and set the table with Kelly green glasses and silverware, black plates and my signature centerpiece – white pots full wheat grass and a floral pomander, and topped with centerpiece sticks.  Don’t you just love that one, single pop of hot pink in the centerpiece and on our birthday girl!? (who was also wearing a darling stripe hair bow by Mel-Belles)

One of my favorite details of the tablesetting were the placecards on the back of the chairs.  Perfectly proportioned to child-size chairs, the guests were delighted to see their names on them!  There are still so many details to come!  Head on back this afternoon to see the details of the dessert table!

Guests were greeted with mango margaritas and each received a beach bag full of goodies –  towel from Restoration Hardware, bag from Z Gallerie, magazine, sunscreen, Trish McEvoy cosmetic bag, chapstick from Tammy Fender and a few other miscellaneous items.  The table setting was orange polka dot plates an rattan chargers atop the tribe table with seagrass stools from Bubble Miami. Flowers were assorted peonies, Gerber daisies and roses by VM Flowers. Lunch was presented in the custom salad bar followed by assorted sorbets catered by Christafaro’s.

Keaton’s favorite thing right now is Batman….so what’s a mom to do when her son desperately wants a character birthday party?!  Do it REALLY, REALLY well!  She used more of the vintage images as her inspiration, with  blue, gray, yellow, and black as the main colors.  Anders Ruff worked with her to transform their super hero package into a custom Batman package, so that it  fit with her ideas perfectly.  The party had three main tables….a  favor table with framed pictures of Keaton in his Batman costume, a batman banner, buckets with name tags for each kid to fill with treats, including custom made Batman crayons, superhero masks, Batman fruit snacks, custom sugar cookies, coloring pages, and other Batman costume supplies.

A small kid’s table was set up for the kids attending. Charynn created a set of 3d letters that spelled “Keaton” with vintage Batman comic books (which I am OBSESSED with – what a creative centerpiece!), vintage Batman prints as placemats, individual sugar cookies, and bottles filled with “joker juice.”

For the dessert table,  a 2 tiered Batman and Joker themed cake (inspired by Keaton’s favorite toy sets) sat centerstage, brownie pops decorated as Batman, Joker, and Robin, AMAZING sugar cookies by Sugarbelle’s, red velvet cupcakes with Batman emblem, “Pow!”, and “Bam!” toppers (placed in adorable cupcake wrappers designed by Anders Ruff Custom Designs), a mini candy bar held in Kandy Kones, and chocolate-covered oreos. Charynn custom designed and made cupcake stands and boxes to hold the cake pops and mini candy buffet.

The amount of details she put into this cake is just amazing….Keaton is one lucky boy!  Here are a few more detail pictures of all of the superhero desserts!

The inspiration board is based around a new collection for us that includes a yellow Greek key pattern, and pops of hot pink and grass green.  Combining modern patterns like the Greek key and ikat, and a sweet summer-like eyelet will help me achieve a layered look that I think will be fabulous!  I’m focusing on a stunning tablesetting for lunch, a small dessert table and party favors for the guests.  More details to come soon!

You know my love for all things green….so it’s no surprise that I LOVED this party that Amy recently styled.  Read on for all of the details, as told by Amy:

For this office holiday party held in an open area within the office, I played off of the chocolate browns and greens already found in the space to create a modern Winter Forest with a hint of vintage.

Inspired by the gorgeous salad plates from Head of the Table rental, I added other elements of green in various patterns as well as pine cones and rustic touches. By mixing graphic patterns, vintage vessels for florals, rustic burlap runners, and elements of nature, you can get an eclectic look that is budget friendly, too. Another budget friendly item? Coffee filters! Taking a cue from all of the fantastic “coffee filter wreaths” making the blog rounds, I added in coffee filter flowers and wreaths in several areas to bring in a warm, homemade feel.
