About once a week {for dinner}, I decide that I just can’t handle cooking and I head to Whole Foods to put together a cheese plate. My husband considers it a great treat {and luckily doesn’t read the blog very often, so he doesn’t know that it’s my “free ticket” from cooking!}, and it’s a great way to experiment with new things.
I feel like today, might be a “cheese-plate-for-dinner” kind of night. We had a great, relaxing Memorial Day weekend….but I SOOOOO don’t feel like I am prepared to start my week today. How about you?
This image is definitely inspiring tonights dinner – I love the mix of cheeses and accompaniments. My two favorite cheese are by Cypress Grove – Midnight Moon and Humboldt Fog. Do you have any favorite cheeses that I should try tonight?

I just had cheese plate dinner the other night with a girlfriend. I am a huge fan! My favorite hands down cheese is Cambozola. I have gotten it at Whole Foods and at Trader Joes and they were both amazing.
I love Point Reyes Toma from Whole Foods
I love this idea! We do something similar but also with different cold cuts because we’re major meat eaters in this house.
You’ve got to try ‘purple haze.’ It’s a chevre with fennel and lavender and it’s freaky good!
I guess I’m old-fashioned because I’ve always thought of the cheese platter as an entertainment entree in the recipe’s category. I love cheese, I’m re-categorizing the cheese platter. After watching a ‘cheese’s of the world’ episode on the food network, I’m sure that I haven’t tasted my ultimate favorite. I like the smokey (meaty) flavor of gouda cheese. Give me any cheese and some fruit (grapes, apples, pineapples, etc) and I’m happy.
