Modern Monogram Bridal Shower

When Pantone named Tangerine Tango the 2012 color of the year, I knew I had to incorporate it into an upcoming party collection. Bold on it’s own, I absolutely love it when paired with fuchsia pink and turquoise. This fresh color palette, mixed with a trio of modern patterns inspired a stunning bridal shower.

I have always been a fan of the classic monogram. It’s preppy, traditional, but if done in a fresh way….totally modern again! Instead of choosing a theme, I focused on using the bride and groom’s monogram in fresh ways. Front and center on our preppy invitation, it was repeated throughtout the entire party in different ways.

We kept the decorations crisp and bold, decorating the all white room with pillows made out of our sunrise fabric, and bold hot pink pom poms hanging from the ceiling. Ghost chairs were used at the tables as to not distract from the mixture of patterns used.

Footed bowls full of paper pomanders from Dragonfly Expression served as a centerpiece on the table, and champagne cocktails were dressed up with turquoise blue rock candy sticks.

The table was set with placemats made out of our turquoise greek key fabric, each monogramed with the couple’s initials. Not only did it make a fabulous statement, but they can also be sent home with the couple as a gift. I found tangerine orange napkins at Home Goods and stenciled an “L” on each one using fabric paint. The do-it-yourself tutorial will be on the blog this afternoon! The napkins hung off each guest’s plate, and coordinated with the colorful sunrise patterned placecards.

Sweets are always a hit at any party. Instead of doing a full dessert table for this event, we decided to serve passed desserts on our melamine trays. This became a great activity while the bride was opening gifts.

Sweet Lauren Cakes made gorgeous cake pops with our sunrise pattern hand-piped on them. Monogram cookies by Allyson Jane in our pop colors were bold, yet classic, and mini cupcakes featured fondant toppers by Two Sugar Babies. Gummy blue raspberry candy from Candywarehouse.com was used not only for dessert, but also lined platters as a sweet decoration.

Guests were sent home with little boxes of sweets as a party favor. We wrapped each box with our sunrise, tangerine wave, and turquoise greek key fabric, and were tied with a gift tag featuring each guest’s initial. The bold colors, mixture of patterns and modern use of the couple’s monogram created a fabulously preppy bridal shower!

This party collection was inspired by a color palette in our social stationery collection.  Need a fabulous gift for a bride-to-be or a good friend?  Check out the personalized stationery!
