DIY fabric placemat

Looking for a quick DIY project to dress up your table for Spring?  This simple idea from Good Housekeeping is quick – simply choose a patterned fabric (heavy-duty is best) from your local fabric store, use pinking shears to cut the fabric into a rectangle or circle.  Voila!  An easy idea that you can customize for any party!

  Love this idea! To make them easier to clean (and fray a little less), why not adhere clear contact paper on to the fabric before cutting. This essentially makes the fabric into a faux oilcloth. Be sure to iron the contact paper to the fabric to make it stick really well (and always place another piece of fabric between the contact paper and hot iron!). Let me know if you have any questions.
