I think one of the cutest trends right now is giving any party theme a vintage twist. And to really make a party shine, don’t forget all of the fun details:
The invitation sets the mood for this classic school-themed baby shower. Pencils, chalkboards, and tons of letters are an absolute must! Also, try experimenting with different things for banners, like these vintage flashcard (purchased on Etsy). Scatter the extra flash cards and some alphabet letters on the tables to spread the theme to the guests. Always think outside the obvious for a party! For this theme, alphabet cookies and a pile of apples (since everyone knows that teachers love apples) carry the theme through. Order personalized pencils to tie onto party favors or mix into your centerpieces. And find different uses for common party items. With all of the cute cupcake liners out there (find an amazing selection at Bake it Pretty), why not use them for food instead of saving them for just cupcakes?

This is a baby shower that one of my creative directors, Sara Westbrook [http://sarawestbrookphotography.com], planned and photographed (I got to help a tiny bit). Invitation image by Veer [http://www.veer.com].
